What is a French e-learning voice over?
A French e-learning voice over is narration created for training modules, tutorials and complete online courses. It is also known as training narration or course narration. It guides learners through content that may span several modules and several months. The voice remains easy to listen to over long stretches and consistent from one file to the next, so the whole programme feels like one coherent experience.
The learner
Whether you're welcoming a new starter, motivating a sales team, guiding a technician through a procedure or delivering mandatory training, I start by asking who the learner is and in what context they will be taking the course. Pace, energy and tone all depend on the answer, the same way they do for medical training, where the vocabulary and the sign-offs follow their own rules.
The role of the voice has changed too. Training narration once sounded like a teacher delivering information. Today, it works alongside the learner and speaks to them more directly. Key points are given weight and space, familiar material can move faster, and new concepts are allowed to breathe. When a module uses characters, whether in a scripted scene or a serious game, I give each one a distinct voice so the learner always knows who is speaking.
Terms and pronunciations
I read the script aloud before the session. I flag acronyms, product names, technical terms and English loanwords, then send you a list of the pronunciations I plan to use. One company may spell an acronym out, while another pronounces it as a word. If a sentence works on the page but not aloud, I flag it before we record. If there is still any doubt, I record both versions.
Volume and consistency
Seven modules and 18,000 words, recorded in four days for a localisation agency: that is the kind of volume I handle, at up to 10,000 words a day. I keep the sessions short, record everything from my own studio, and retain the project's technical settings throughout, so the final file matches the first in both energy and sound.
Files and naming
You may work in Excel, Word, PowerPoint or an authoring tool. I work from your spreadsheet, using your IDs, colour codes and instructions. Every file is named exactly as specified and delivered in the format you need, including WAV or MP3, sample rate, bit depth and channel format, with the required silence at the beginning and end.
Whether you need one long file with a gap between each cue or hundreds of individual files, everything arrives ready to add to your course, with no misreads or naming errors. This is the part of the process I am most exacting about, and the part clients notice.
Revisions and updates
The script changes after sign-off, regulations are updated or a new screen is added six months later. I re-record the amended line to match the original and deliver it ready to replace the old one, without redoing the whole module. I track every version so outdated copy is never delivered by mistake, and your internal materials remain confidential. For a one-off pickup as much as for a full programme, what sets the price stays the same: volume, turnaround and file count.
Five steps, from script to update.
Script check and preparation
Format, file structure, IDs and lines that may be difficult to say aloud. Terms and acronyms are flagged, the list of pronunciations is shared with you for approval, and both versions are recorded if any doubt remains.
Tone, pace and sample
One excerpt, two reads, with your preferred direction agreed before full recording begins.
Batch recording
Short sessions, consistent settings, recorded independently or with live direction.
Check, split and name
Every file reviewed, split according to your spreadsheet and delivered with the required silence and specifications.
Delivery, revisions and updates
Batches delivered to your schedule, with re-recorded lines that still match months later.
Clients at ease.

Your questions about French e-learning voice over.
I estimate the duration from the word count, using an average of around 150 words per minute. A 3,000-word script therefore produces roughly twenty minutes of narration. I can record up to 10,000 words a day. For larger projects, we agree a batch recording and delivery schedule. The brief tool can count the words in your script and estimate the duration for you.
Yes. I work from your spreadsheet, Word document or authoring-tool export, using your file IDs. Every file is named exactly as specified and includes the required silence at the beginning and end. I can also deliver one continuous file with gaps between cues. Projects involving hundreds of individual files, such as serious games, are handled in the same way.
I flag every technical term and acronym before the session and send you a list of the pronunciations I plan to use. You can confirm or correct them, and I keep the approved list as a reference for all subsequent modules. If two pronunciations are in use, I record both.
You send me the updated line, and I re-record it using the project's saved settings. You receive a replacement file that matches the original recording and is ready to swap in. I track every version so outdated copy is never delivered by mistake.
Whatever you specify: WAV or MP3, 44.1 or 48 kHz, 16-bit or 24-bit, mono or stereo, with levels and silence tailored to your requirements. By default, I deliver a clean WAV and an MP3 with no unnecessary processing, ready for your LMS or authoring tool.
I work from your scripts and reference audio, matching the pace and timing of the source language and following the naming convention used for the other language versions. I raise any questions about pronunciation, including English terms and brand names, before recording and respond to your QC notes the same day.
