What healthcare asks of a voice

A voice that knows who it is speaking to.

Healthcare scripts move through medical and legal sign-off. Diction is only the starting point: the audience, the range of reads, the terminology, the review process and the length of the series shape the recording.

The audience

A patient education film, an HCP module and a public-facing campaign call for different reads. For patients, I keep the pace unhurried and give unfamiliar terms room to land. For HCPs, I can hold a denser pace, closer to a conversation between peers, where terminology is used rather than explained. For the general public, I keep the delivery conversational.

Accessibility can shape the read too. On one signed-language video, I matched my pace to the interpreter so the voice and signing landed together. If your project has accessibility requirements, I can build them into the session from the start.

The range

Healthcare content can call for very different kinds of delivery. A pharma commercial may need warmth and a smile in the read. Scenario-based training may call for several characters. An awareness film can carry more weight. A medical device tutorial needs a steady pace that follows each action step by step.

The demo above moves through these styles in a minute on purpose, because one series often needs the same voice to carry all of them. My voice is naturally lighter rather than deep. On a difficult subject, that can help keep the message approachable. The subject, the words and the pacing already carry the weight. The voice can stay human, speaking simply to the person listening and giving the information room to land.

The terminology

Molecule names, acronyms, device names, conditions: I flag every specialist term in the script before the session and send you the pronunciation I plan to use. The same acronym may be spelled out in one department and spoken as a word in another. You can correct anything that needs changing, and where two established usages coexist, I record both.

You sign off the medical content. My role is to deliver the approved wording as agreed, at the right pace, with breaths and pauses where your edit or animation needs them.

The review process

Healthcare content often moves through medical, legal and, where relevant, regulatory review, with script changes between rounds.

You can direct the session live, with your client and medical team on the call, and leave with the takes you have selected. Or send me the signed-off script and I'll return two reads within 24 hours. If a line changes later, I record the pickup in the same setup, ready to replace the original in your edit.

Unpublished material stays confidential.

Continuity over time

A patient education series, a 20-module training programme, a campaign running over a year: the voice needs to match from the first file to the last.

I keep the recording settings and reference audio for each project, and name files to your structure. For French versions of content produced internationally, I can also match the timing of the source version. A pickup six months later sits naturally alongside the original recording.

In practice

What you can count on.

Tact.
Five commitments, one aim: healthcare content that sounds right for the person listening.

The right register

Patient, HCP or general public: the read is shaped around who is listening.

Range across formats

From an awareness film to scenario-based training, the same voice can carry the whole series.

Pronunciations prepared

Every specialist term flagged in advance, with a proposed pronunciation and both versions recorded where established usages vary.

Built for review rounds

Live direction with your medical team on the call, plus pickups matched to the original recording.

Continuity over time

Recording settings kept, files named to your structure, and later pickups matched to the original sound.

Frequently asked questions

French medical voice-over: your questions.

I flag every specialist term in the script, from molecule names and acronyms to devices and conditions, and send you the pronunciation I plan to use. You can correct anything that needs changing. Where two established usages coexist, I record both so you can choose in the edit.

Send me the revised line and I'll record the pickup in the same conditions as the original, ready to drop into your edit. The rest of the module stays untouched. I keep the recording settings and reference audio for each project for exactly this purpose.

Yes. Audience is one of the first things I establish. For patients, I use an unhurried pace and give unfamiliar terms room. For HCPs, the read can be denser and more direct. For the general public, I keep it conversational. For self-directed recordings, you receive two reads to compare.

Yes. My voice is naturally lighter rather than deep, which can work well when the subject already carries emotional weight. I focus on pace and pauses rather than making the voice itself darker, keeping the delivery approachable while letting the subject speak for itself. You can hear the full Novo Nordisk film on obesity in the demos above.

Yes. Healthcare content can take me from an awareness film to a pharma commercial, from a medical device tutorial to scenario-based training with several characters. I can sign your NDA, and unpublished scripts stay confidential in my studio.

I keep the recording settings and reference audio for each project, so later sessions can match the original closely. Files are named to your structure and delivered ready for your LMS or authoring tool.
